Students from Colonie Central High School's iCARE program have exciting news to share: Raiderfest is back! Set to take place at Colonie Central High School on Saturday, May 18, this event serves as the grand finale for the district's 75th Anniversary celebrations.

But Raiderfest is more than just a day of amusement for students and families; it's a beacon of philanthropy. All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting iCARE's chosen charity partners: "Things of My Very Own" and the "United Way Alice Project." These organizations are pivotal in providing essential aid to the local community, ensuring that vital resources reach those in greatest need.
Adding to the excitement, the event will commence with a morning opening ceremony at 10 a.m. The ceremony will feature the presentation of iCARE's Kind Human of the Year award, the Hill of Heroes recognition and will culminate in the rededication of the district in honor of its 75th Anniversary Year.
"Raiderfest symbolizes our collective effort and achievements throughout the year,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Perry. “It's a moment for us to come together, recognize the hard work, and celebrate our accomplishments in this grand finale. We have a lot to be proud of not only what we have accomplished this year but what we have done over the past 75 years as a district."
We eagerly anticipate this event every spring," concluded associate principal Brian Scalzo. "It's a joy to see students and families gather at the high school, not only for a good time but also in support of our partner charities. We're excited to witness our iCare students' efforts in bringing this wonderful community event to life."

Colonie Central High School iCARE began as an initiative where both faculty and students could have a common forum to express and affect change for the better of the school community. iCARE is a character-building program that uses five core values to shape decision making. The ultimate goal is that students and adults in the Colonie community understand and enact the ideologies of Integrity, Community, Accountability, Respect, and Empathy as defined through the many interactive teachings of iCARE character and community workshops.
