The South Colonie Friends of Music (SCFOM) is a not‐for‐profit organization of parents, teachers, and all interested persons formed in 1974 whose goal is to support and enhance all areas of the South Colonie music program, and to promote an awareness and appreciation of the musical arts throughout the community. In attempting to fulfill these objectives, the SCFOM:
Each year provides an award to two or more graduating seniors who have been active in the CCHS music program.
Presents a Harvard Dictionary of Music to each senior who is entering a field of music at the college level.
Provides after concert receptions for special concerts and activities as well as for the annual faculty recital.
Provides scholarships to seniors that have been involved in the district’s music program.
Sponsors the SCFOM Dance Band and Alumni Concert.
Meetings of the SCFOM Board of Directors are normally held each month on Tuesday in the Colonie Central High School faculty room. Meetings begin at 7 p.m. and usually last one hour. General membership meetings are held in October, March and June. For a meeting schedule, click here. Members must be age 18 or older.
Persons interested in membership may become members in good standing upon submission of an application for membership and a donation.
