Fisher Earns School Business Official of the Year Honors
Congratulations to South Colonie's Sherri Fisher who was honored recently as School Business Official of the Year by the Capital Region Chapter of the New York State Association of School Business Officials.
Fisher, South Colonie's Assistant Superintendent for Management Services and Strategic Planning, is a longtime NYSASBO member/officer. The recognition is given annually to a chapter member who exemplifies honor, commitment, and dedication to the school business official profession.
In further recognition, a $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduate of the 2017 class of Colonie Central High School. A Capital Chapter NYSASBO Scholarship Committee reviews student applications, and the scholarship is awarded to the student applicant who best exemplifies the ideals of the school business profession through excellence in academic achievement, community service and leadership.
This marks Fisher's second NYSASBO award in the last six months. In June she was presented with the 2016 George A. Perry Volunteer Service Award. That award recognizes a NYSASBO member who demonstrates outstanding volunteer service and commitment to the organization. The award is named in honor of George A. Perry, who was the Executive Director of NYSASBO from 1992–2006.
