frequently asked questions

How many books can I check out?

Library rule: “As many as you can be responsible for!” For most of you that is probably two or three. Students are allowed only one magazine at a time.

When can I go to the library?

Anytime during the regular school day. You must always have a pass from a teacher. A good time for seventh and eighth graders is during their access period or lunch. Students may stay after school to work on research projects with a pass from a teacher.

How long may I keep material I sign out?

Books for two weeks; magazines for one night; reference books (encyclopedias, etc.) for one night. Books on a reserve cart for research projects can be signed out overnight and must be returned before the end of homeroom the next day.

What if I can’t find or I lose a book?

When you lose, misplace, or damage library material, you need to replace or pay for it in the library office.

If I have a book out, may I still take out more books?

As long as your library book is not overdue you may take out additional books.
