Breakfast & Lunch Program

South Colonie Schools proudly provide nutritious breakfast and lunch options to ensure students have access to healthy, balanced meals every school day. Our Food Service Department is committed to meeting the diverse dietary needs of our students. In the event of a two-hour delay, breakfast will not be served in any building except for Colonie Central High School, allowing lunch service to continue as scheduled.

Families are encouraged to complete the Free & Reduced Meal Application to determine eligibility for additional school and community benefits. Pay for School Lunch Online

The South Colonie Food Service Department offers a secure and convenient way to pay for meals through the LINQ Connect (formerly TITAN) online payment program. After creating an account, parents can easily add money to their child’s meal account, monitor activity, transfer funds between siblings, apply for meal benefits, set spending limits, and receive notifications when the balance is low.

We encourage parents to utilize the pre-payment option to ensure their child’s meal account is always funded. For instructions on creating a LINQ account and adding funds, please refer to the support article provided.

Meal Modifications and Substitutions

The South Colonie Food Service Department is committed to meeting the dietary needs of all students. Reasonable accommodations to regular meal patterns or food substitutions will be offered at no extra charge to students with disabilities, provided that the need is supported by a statement signed by a physician attesting to the need for substitutions and recommending alternative foods.

The district will also allow substitutions for non-disabled children who are unable to consume the regular meal due to medical or other special dietary needs, if the request is supported by a statement from a recognized medical authority. A nutritional equivalent to dairy milk may also be provided with a medical note.

For inquiries regarding meal modifications or substitutions for allergies, please contact the Food Service Department at the information provided.

Free and Reduced Priced Meals

Free Meals for All South Colonie Students in the 2024-25 School Year

Through the New York State Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program, all South Colonie students are eligible to receive free meals during the 2024-25 school year, regardless of household income.

Why Complete the Free and Reduced Meals Application?
Although meals are free for all students, we encourage families to submit the Free and Reduced Meals application each year. This helps the district determine if your family qualifies for additional resources and benefits, such as financial assistance for district programs and services.

The application process is quick, confidential, and requires only one submission per household. Applications are available at your child’s school or can be downloaded below. If assistance is needed, please contact the South Colonie Food Service Department at (518) 869-3576.

To ensure timely processing, we recommend submitting the application before the school year begins. Eligibility notifications are typically sent within 4-5 business days. If you have difficulty accessing the forms, please call (518) 869-3576 for support.
