Honoring our Veterans: Message from Superintendent Perry
Dear South Colonie School Community,
As Veterans Day approaches, I invite each member of our Colonie community to pause and reflect on the profound sacrifices made by the men and women of the United States armed forces. These individuals—whom we honor on this day—are everyday people who have shown extraordinary courage, pride, integrity, and selflessness in their commitment to our country. Their dedication to serving a cause greater than themselves inspires us all and embodies the strength and unity of our community.
I extend my heartfelt thanks to our staff members whose spouses, partners, or children are veterans or are currently serving. Your support is invaluable, and as a veteran myself, I deeply appreciate the timeless values of Duty, Honor, and Country that you exemplify daily. You have my utmost respect and gratitude.
To our Board of Education, parents, community members, volunteers, and supporters who have served, thank you for your commitment and the sacrifices you have made. It is because of patriots like you—and your families—that our community can thrive in freedom and unity. This Veterans Day, let us stand together as a Pack, honoring those who have given so much for us all.
Dr. David Perry
