Lisha Kill Middle School announced today, 6th grade student Khrystian Benoit, has been selected as one of the 2024 Winning Kids by the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York. This recognition is awarded to children who demonstrate exceptional courage, bravery and a positive attitude while dealing with epilepsy.

Each year, the Epilepsy Foundation carefully chooses one or two children to represent all young individuals with epilepsy across northeastern New York. Benoit was chosen for his unwavering resilience and inspiring journey in facing his condition.

"We are thrilled to see Khrystian being recognized for his remarkable strength and positivity," said Lisha Kill Middle School principal Jill Penn. "His journey serves as an inspiration not only to our school community but to all who learn about his story."

Benoit's first official event as a Winning Kid will be the "Confections in Chocolate Gala for Hope." Held in April, this signature event is the Epilepsy Foundation's largest annual fundraiser. 

The Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York provides vital services to individuals with epilepsy across twenty-two counties throughout the Capital Region, North Country, and Upper Hudson Valley. In addition to their support programs, the foundation also offers a wide variety of school education programs and professional in-service training programs tailored to children, students of all ages, adults, and their families.
