Summer School

South Colonie Central School District offers summer school programming for students in grades 7-12. This program provides an excellent opportunity for students to continue their education, recover credits, or enhance their academic skills during the summer break.

Registration at Colonie Central High School

Student registration will be held on July 1 for residents and July 2 for non-residents from 8:30-11:00 and 12:30-2:30 at the high school in the West Wing Café. Counselors will be available to answer questions and meet with parents and students.

Class & Regents Exam Dates

Classes will begin on Wednesday, July 8 and the last day of classes will be Monday, August 17. Regents Examinations are scheduled for Tuesday, August 18 and Wednesday, August 19.

Cell Phone Policy

All cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, and other mobile communication devices must be turned off and stored securely in the student’s backpack before the start of each session. Students may not carry, use, or access these devices during summer school, including during passing time. Students needing to contact a parent or guardian during the school day must report to the Main Office.

Additional Information

Code of Conduct

  • No smoking, vaping, possession of weapons, illegal drugs, or alcoholic beverages.
  • Violence or any disruptive behavior is not permitted at any time.
  • Offenders will be dropped from the summer school program.
  • Summer School is a closed campus. Students are NOT allowed out of the building between classes.
  • All South Colonie Central School District Code of Conduct regulations will be enforced.

Attendance

  • Every student is required to attend a minimum of 22 class sessions out of 24 days of instruction.
  • Absence for special events (e.g., previously scheduled vacations, sporting events, camps, court appearances) is not excusable. These absences will count as regular absences.
  • Students who miss more than 2 classes will be dropped from class.
  • Tardiness of 15 minutes or more will be considered an absence. Minutes being late will be added up.

Parking

  • Licensed drivers may drive to Summer School and park on campus.
  • Vehicles must be registered and insured.
  • Students may park ONLY in the lot closest to Waterman Avenue. Vehicles parked in other areas may be towed.

Dress Code

  • Hoods must be kept down; No hats.

Chromebooks

  • Students are expected to bring their Chromebooks every day.
  • Students from other districts should bring the device issued by their home school.
  • Usernames and passwords will be provided to connect to South Colonie's wifi.
