Food Service, Clerical, Custodial, More! - Monday, March 10, 2025

On Monday, March 10, from 9 a.m. to noon, the South Colonie District Office at 102 Loralee Drive, Colonie, NY 12205 will open its doors to those interested in support staff positions. The district is hiring for a range of roles, including monitors, food service roles, clerical staff, and custodial substitutes. Individuals hired are eligible for a $500 signing bonus and enjoy the benefits of New York State Retirement.

Transportation Opportunities- Thursday, March 13, 2025

For those interested in careers with the South Colonie Transportation Department, a second walk-in job fair will be held on Thursday, March 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Transportation Department at 2 Winston Pl., Colonie, NY 12205. The Transportation Department is hiring for several positions, including automotive mechanic, 10-month and 12-month bus drivers with flexible hours, and a combo driver/custodial mechanic role. Attendees can also take advantage of paid training opportunities, as well as the same $500 signing bonus and New York State Retirement benefits. In addition, prospective drivers will have the unique opportunity to test drive a bus.

HR Department

Human Resources supports the South Colonie administrative staff in the recruitment, selection and hiring of more than 1,000 teaching and support staff. The department also works closely with the entire staff in the implementation of union/district initiatives, bargaining agreements and Board of Education policies.

The department also oversees issues regarding fair labor practices, due process proceedings, mediation and conflict resolution, ongoing staff development, management of in-service credits, educational seminars and graduate credits, the teacher mentoring program and the maintenance of confidential personnel records.
