2024 New Staff Orientation
South Colonie Central School District is happy to welcome 30 new staff members who were introduced to leadership during New Staff Orientation, held at The Crossings Park on August, 13-14. The day began with a welcome brunch, followed by opening remarks by Superintendent of Schools, Dr. David Perry, and Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, Thomas Kachadurian. The presentation was led by Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Safe Schools, Christopher Robilotti, who emphasized the crucial role educators play in the lives of students and the broader community.
“The message we aim to relay to our new staff is that perspective is everything. We encourage them to seek out the perspectives of students, parents, and each other- in order to provide the best, and most dynamic educational experience we can to our students,” Kachadurian stated.
Throughout the day, new staff engaged in discussions on educational models and values, fostering a collaborative environment and deepening their understanding of the core values held by the South Colonie educational system. New hires were able to connect with district leadership and Board of Education Members to ask questions and gain insight on the South Colonie Community, and the roles they will ultimately undertake as invaluable links between the school and community at large.
“We are thrilled to welcome such a dedicated group of professionals to South Colonie,” said Dr. Perry. “The passion and commitment I’ve seen reflected in each of our newly appointed staff members excites me for the coming 2024-25 school year and the opportunities that will be created for students and families.”
