South Colonie Honors Board of Education Members During Recognition Week
South Colonie School District proudly honored its Board of Education members during Board of Education Recognition Week, showing deep appreciation for the individuals who work tirelessly to guide the future of the district. The celebration took place during a board meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 15 and featured heartfelt tributes and creative expressions of gratitude.
In the days leading up to the event, students from schools across the district crafted personalized cards and artwork to show their thanks. These thoughtful, handmade creations reflected the genuine care and gratitude from South Colonie’s youngest members.
South Colonie school board members take on one of the most important citizen responsibilities: overseeing the education of our youth. They serve as volunteers, without compensation, dedicating their time to improve public education and ensure that schools meet the needs of the community. In short - our board members work hard to ensure school districts are flexible, responsive and focused on student success.
"We are incredibly grateful for the appreciation from our students, parents, and community,” said Superintendent Dr. David Perry. “Our Board of Education plays a vital role in shaping the future of our schools, and their dedication to providing the best opportunities for our students is unwavering. Knowing that their hard work is recognized and appreciated by the families they serve is truly meaningful.”
