Veeder collects over 1,000 items during annual turkey trot and food drive
Veeder Elementary School recently celebrated its annual Food Drive in conjunction with the 15th Annual Veeder Turkey Trot, bringing the school community together to support local families in need. This year’s event was a tremendous success, collecting 1,013 food items to benefit Veeder families and the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York in Latham.
Fourth-grade students, accompanied by Mr. Thompson and Ms. Pariseau, had the opportunity to deliver the donations to the food bank. During their visit, they toured the facility to learn about the organization’s critical role in distributing food to those in need across the region.
“This is more than just a food drive,” said Mr. Thompson. “It’s a chance for our students to give back, learn about the importance of community service, and see how their efforts can make a real difference.”
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the Veeder families, the PTA, and the school’s faculty and staff for their generous support. Events like this highlight the power of community and the impact of working together to help others.
Great job, Veeder for making this year’s Turkey Trot and Food Drive another incredible success!
