South Colonie Partners with U.S. Marines for 18th Annual
On Monday, Dec. 2, the South Colonie Central School District, in collaboration with the U.S. Marines, officially launched its 18th annual "Stuff the Bus" toy drive at Shaker Road Elementary School. The event brought together district leaders, students, staff, and community members to kick off the holiday season with a focus on generosity and community spirit.
“This partnership with the U.S. Marines for Stuff the Bus with Toys for Tots provides an incredible opportunity for our students, staff, and families to make a real difference for children in need,” said Dr. David Perry, superintendent of schools. “Community is one of the core pillars of our district, and this initiative allows us to come together and spread kindness during this special time of year.”
Students, staff, and community members enthusiastically presented the first round of donated toys to U.S. Marines representatives, marking the official start of the collection campaign. This year's effort includes donation sites at South Colonie schools, the District Office, and the Village of Colonie, ensuring that the entire community has a chance to contribute.
Donations will be accepted through Monday, Dec. 9, with the goal of helping as many local children as possible enjoy a joyous holiday season.
