Rosie, Colonie Central High School’s Library Media Specialist and a dedicated graduate student, has been awarded the prestigious Ann Gibson Scholarship by the New York Library Association (NYLA). This distinguished award is granted to a graduate student specializing in library sciences with a focus on serving children and young adults.

In recognition of Hren’s achievement, Hren was honored at a scholarship luncheon during the NYLA Conference in Syracuse in early November. She also participated  in seminars focused on the latest innovations and developments in school library sciences.

“Rosie’s hard work, passion, and commitment to enriching the educational experiences of young readers have earned her this well-deserved recognition,” said Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Thomas Kachadurian. “ We are incredibly proud of her accomplishments and excited to see the continued impact she will have in the field of library sciences.”
