Colonie’s ICARE to host Mac & Chili Cook-Off
ICARE recently announced the return of the Mac & Chili Cook-Off, taking place on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Colonie Village Family Recreation Center. This annual event brings together local first responders, community members, and students for an evening of delicious food, fun, and fundraising.
Attendees will have the opportunity to sample and judge the area’s best chili and mac & cheese, prepared by local fire departments, first responders, police, and members of the Colonie community. In addition, vendors and school clubs will be on-site selling a variety of items.
Tickets for the event can be purchased at the entrance with the following pricing:
- $10 per person
- $5 for students with a valid ID
This year’s event will benefit the Sheriff’s Homeless Improvement Program (SHIP), ICARE’s 2024 Charity Partner of the Year. S.H.I.P. focuses on creating transitional housing for homeless individuals, addressing a critical need in the community.
“This event is about more than great food—it’s a chance to come together as a community in order to help support a worthy cause, “ said Melissa Judge, Associate Principal at Colonie Central High School. “The dedication of these groups, who all go above and beyond, to make a positive difference in the lives of others is truly inspiring. We invite everyone to join us as we unite to support SHIP, to celebrate community, and to taste some delicious home cooking!”
