Honor a Colonie Grad: Nominations now open for the Class of 2025 Hall of Fame
The South Colonie Board of Education Hall of Fame Committee is now accepting nominations for the Colonie Central High School Hall of Fame Class of 2025. The deadline to submit applications is Friday, March 7, 2025. The Board of Education selection committee will meet in late April to determine this year’s inductees, who will be celebrated at the graduation ceremony in June.
Since its inception in 1994, the Hall of Fame has honored nearly 80 graduates who exemplify exceptional achievements across various fields and eras. Inductees span numerous high school classes and accomplishments, serving as inspirational role models for current students. In 2010, the Hall of Fame introduced a Military Wing, dedicated to Colonie Central High School graduates who lost their lives while on active duty.
“The Hall of Fame is a testament to the incredible accomplishments of our alumni,” said Superintendent Dr. David Perry. “It’s a meaningful way for our graduates to witness firsthand the impact and success that begins with a South Colonie education. These stories inspire our students to dream big and recognize the foundation they’re building right here at Colonie.”
Hall of Fame inductees:
- Are recognized during the commencement ceremony each year.
- Participate as honored guests at a special reception for inductees and their families.
- March in the graduation processional in their induction year.
- Receive recognition on stage in front of graduates, their families, and invited guests.
- Are commemorated with a portrait and biography displayed on a plaque in the Hall of Fame hallway at Colonie Central High School.
All nominees are acknowledged and, if not selected the first year, remain in an active pool of nominees for a period of five years.
