Albany County grants $14,000 to Lisha Kill for anti-bullying program

Lisha Kill Middle School was recently awarded $14,000 in grant funding from the Albany County Legislature to support our anti-bullying and youth violence prevention efforts. This funding is part of a broader initiative in which the county has distributed more than $725,000 in grants to 30 county nonprofits, school districts, and organizations dedicated to community well-being.
With this funding, Lisha Kill Middle School will bring back Sweethearts & Heroes for their powerful anti-bullying presentation, reinforcing the importance of kindness, inclusion, and leadership among students. This initiative continues the district’s commitment to student empowerment and fostering a positive school culture.
“We are incredibly grateful for this generous support from Albany County,” said Lisha Kill Principal Jill Penn. “This funding allows us to bring back an impactful program that provides students with essential tools to combat bullying and build a culture of empathy and leadership within our school community.”
The grant check was presented to the school in a private ceremony on February 10.
