ICARE to Host Pack Fest: Community Celebration Returns with New Name, Same Spirit

Colonie Central High School's ICARE students are thrilled to invite the community to Pack Fest, a reimagined version of the annual spring event formerly known as Raiderfest. Set to take place on Saturday, May 17, this year’s event promises a fresh identity, but with the same community spirit and energy families have come to look forward to each year.
Hosted by ICARE students, Pack Fest will transform the high school grounds into a vibrant hub of activity. Attendees can look forward to a day filled with interactive games, a craft and vendor fair, touch-a-truck exhibits, a STEAM showcase, and numerous family-friendly attractions designed to bring people together in celebration of what it means to be part of the Colonie Wolf Pack.
“Pack Fest continues to be a powerful example of what our students can achieve when they are driven by purpose and community,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Perry. “This event is a celebration of their leadership, service, and dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of others.”
In addition to the many hands-on and entertainment offerings, Pack Fest will open with a ceremony at 10 a.m. in the auditorium featuring the Kind Human of the Year award and a morning welcome by ICARE student leaders. This year, all proceeds from Pack Fest will benefit ICARE’s 2025 charity partner, S.H.I.P. (Sheriff’s Homeless Improvement Project), an organization dedicated to supporting local families in need.
“This event showcases the best of Colonie—compassionate students, a strong sense of community, and a commitment to service,” said Melissa Judge, CCHS associate principal. “I’m incredibly proud of the ICARE team for their hard work in organizing this year’s Pack Fest and their continued dedication to supporting meaningful causes.”

About ICARE
Colonie Central High School ICARE began as an initiative where both faculty and students could have a common forum to express and affect change for the better of the school community. ICARE is a character-building program that uses five core values to shape decision making. The ultimate goal is that students and adults in the Colonie community understand and enact the ideologies of Integrity, Community, Accountability, Respect, and Empathy as defined through the many interactive teachings of ICARE character and community workshops.
