Colonie Central High School to Host Second Annual Resource Fair

Event to Connect Students and Families with Local Resources and Opportunities
Colonie Central High School (CCHS) will host its Second Annual Resource Fair on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the CCHS Library. The event aims to support all students by introducing them to a variety of community resources and opportunities in one central location.
“This event brings together a range of services that students and families would typically need to seek out individually,” said Tess McCarthy, CCHS associate principal. “It provides a unique opportunity to offer these resources in a convenient, one-stop-shop setting right here at the high school.”
Participants will have the opportunity to connect with a diverse array of organizations, including Broadview Federal Credit Union, which will offer a financial literacy class for students, as well as the CCHS Counseling Center and Nurses, who will provide eye exams and working papers. The CCHS College and Career Planning Center will also be onsite. Other organizations include the Colonie Town Library, Hudson Valley Community College’s Community Health Navigation Class, the South Colonie PTSA, Stratton Air Force Base, The Family Room, and Delta Dental. Additionally, there will be student employment opportunities with representatives from Afrim's and Market 32.
“The Resource Fair aims to equip students and their families with valuable tools for career readiness, education, health, and personal development, all while fostering strong connections within the Colonie community,” added McCarthy.
In addition to the resources available, the fair also strengthens the district’s focus on community connection—a key pillar of South Colonie’s mission.
“As always, our goal is to create programming that not only prepares our students academically, but also supports their growth as citizens and future professionals,” said McCarthy. “The enthusiasm from our community partners shows just how invested Colonie is in our students' success.”
