Turning the page: CCHS students begin new partnership with library staff
Colonie Central High School's life skills students are embarking on a journey of skill building through their latest collaboration with the school's library staff. Under the guidance of Mrs. Cramer, this semester, students in Mrs. Martinez and Ms. Satin’s life skills classes have been actively involved in tasks such as stamping and labeling new library books, preparing them for circulation.
"The recent upgrade to our high school library has transformed how students and staff interact with this space," commented co-teacher Satin. "We're always seeking opportunities for our students to learn and grow, and with the welcoming atmosphere of the library, we found an ideal setting for our life skills students to engage and learn right here at their school."
The unwavering support from faculty members like Mrs. Cramer, Mrs. Furfaro and Mrs. Luizzi has been pivotal in the success of this collaboration. Their dedication and assistance in crafting this enhanced space for students, complete with recreational activities, kits, art, puzzles, and more, have truly enriched the school environment.
Mrs. Cramer expressed her gratitude for the recent partnership stating, "The students' enthusiasm and hard work have made a significant impact on our library. It's inspiring to witness their skill development while also benefiting our school community."
This newfound partnership between life skills students and library staff exemplifies the spirit of community and support at South Colonie.
"Opportunities like these offer students a way to build confidence, foster social interactions with peers, and acquire essential life skills beyond the classroom," shared co-teacher Martinez. "Moreover, this initiative underscores the district's commitment to inclusivity, ensuring every student has the chance to thrive and contribute meaningfully to our community."
