Empowering futures: Colonie Community Connection Program honors students and partners
The Colonie Community Connection work-based learning program took some time out recently to celebrate another year of success. The program provides opportunities for career exploration and to foster independence while establishing relationships in the community.
Members of the Board of Education, District Administrators and Community Partners attended the event where student’s shared their summary projects using technology to provide an overview of some of their experiences. The students received certificates of achievement for their hard work and dedication throughout the year. Students recognized were: Patrick Bryant, Arieonna Kirkpatrick, Gianna Kittle, Joshua Kramer, Sarah Lee, Kassie Schab, Jason Scutt, Dylan Stefannazi, Tyshaun Tonic, Kany Toure, Aaily Bolden.
The CCC also recognized and thanked the Community Business Partners who have been gracious to allow our students to gain these experiences over the years. Some of the partners that were recognized included Colonie Center Management, Boscov’s, Hannaford, Sports Zone, Christmas Tree Shops, Texas RoadHouse, Warriors On Wheels, South Colonie Food Services and Transportation Department.
The CCC staff members were also recognized for their dedication and support of the students and being instrumental to the program's success. We are grateful to Lead Teacher Deirdre Locke and her staff Lisa Gallacchi, John Miller, Rochelle Fowler, Mark Fisher, Griselle Semedo, Diane Irving for their dedication to the students.
